Are there other ways to make a deposit to secure a seat?
A deposit can be made one of three way. Online (3.99% fee), US Postal Service (please notify us if using this method), HDA Drop Box located beside our office window (please notify us when you drop the deposit off). If a class or drive times fills before your payment is made, you may need arrange for a later class date or behind-the-wheel sessions.
What is your refund policy?
No refunds will be issued for any reason.
Is there a rescheduling, cancellation, or no show fee?
Yes, if you reschedule a class time and/or drive sessioin once the seat is secured and if you fail to show up for a class and/or a drive session, you will be charged a $55 late cancellation fee.
Driver Ed Requirements
Do I need a permit to start classes?
No permit is required to start taking drivers ed classes.
What does the state of North Carolina require to obtain a teen driver permit?
You must provide a certificate of completion of a driver educatioin course that is licened by the state of NC which consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours behind wheel instruction.

School/Student Eligibility Form (can pick up from school office and only valid for 30 days)
How many days do I need to complete my Behind-the-wheel lessons.
You will select up to 3 days for your behind-the-wheel lessons. Six hours will be driving and 6 hours will be for observation. You will have 3 days and they can either be in a row (if time slots are available) or any days of the week that are open.
How old do I need to be to start driver ed?
The state of NC requires that you be 14 1/2 yrs old on the first day of class.
Behind-the-Wheel
What safety equipment are your cars equipped with?
Our vehicles are equipped with standard OEM requirements, including passenger side brake.
Do you offer home pick-up and drop off?
Home pick-up and drop-off services are offered for adult behind-the-wheel lessons only. An additional fee applies and is based on the current Uber rates.
What will I learn during my behind-the-wheel sessions?
Basic maneuvers for the DMV road test, including merging, lane changes, signals, braking, parking, turnabouts, urban driving, rural driving, managing intersections, one-way streets, railroads, residential driving, and steering correctly.
Will I have other students in the car with me?
If you are under 18, there will be an instructor and two students in the vehicle. There will be no more than three students in a car at a time.
Are your instructors licensed?
Yes, our instructors are licensed by the state of NC and bonded.
Does classroom have to be completed to start behind-the-wheel?
Yes, you must complete and pass the 30-hour classroom portion before the 6-hour behind-the-wheel can be scheduled.
Can I use my own car?
No. We only offer lessons in our cars. Our vehicles feature safety features that don't come in standard cars, such as a passenger brake.
How long can I drive with an instructor?
We prefer that our adults drive no longer than three hours in one day. Our teen drivers will drive three days with two hour sessions. However they will be in the car for four hours for those three days. Because we never drive one teen student alone. Our top priority is the safety of our students.
